INTRODUCTION
Our culture seems to be obsessed with its own whimsical fairytale version of love. This version of love far too often focuses on the novelty of puppy dog love with an extreme emphasis on the experience of feelings. God loves us enough to call us to a much deeper experience of human connection found solely in His definition of love, romance, and the lifelong commitment of marriage.

God has the absolute best plans for us! It is tragic how often we persist in having our own way and end up trampling all of His plans for us. This is never more true than in our relationships. He warns us not to allow our strongest bonds we choose in this life to be with people who don’t have the most powerful and important relationship that exists… faith, trust, and a walk with Jesus.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ Proverbs 27:15-17
It would be nice if we were able to simply rely on others to be the sole caretakers of our relationships. That is simply naive and dangerous. If we are going to see any improvement in our relationships, we must own our shortcomings, seek to improve ourselves wherever possible, and rely on God to improve what is outside of our control. A huge part of this is improving and not starting down negative paths to begin with.
APPLICATION
PRAYER
Pray that God will bring you closer and closer to Himself this week so that you can be (or become) the best example of Him to your current/future spouse or others who look up to you.
