INTRODUCTION
Christmas can easily become noise, decorations, and routine. The message reminded us that the heart of Christmas is not simply celebration but salvation. Before we can fully appreciate the gift of Jesus, we first recognize our need for Him. As your group moves into Scripture together, take a moment to prepare your heart for what God may say through His word.
UNDERSTANDING
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ ROMANS 3:23
The message explained that sin touches every part of life. Relationships, motives, choices, and desires all feel the effects. When we recognize the brokenness honestly, we begin to see why Christmas matters so deeply. Jesus was not sent into a world that needed a little improvement but into a world that needed rescue.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ ROMANS 5:8
God’s love is not shown after we get ourselves together. It is shown while we are unable to fix our condition. Christmas is God stepping toward us first. Let this truth frame the rest of the conversation as you consider the gift God offers to every person.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ ROMANS 10:9
This final step of the “Romans Road” invites a response. Salvation is not about achieving something but surrendering to someone. Christmas announces God’s gift, and each person chooses whether to receive it. Scripture makes clear that anyone who calls on Jesus can be saved.
APPLICATION
Christmas is not only a celebration of Jesus arrival but also an invitation to respond. God met us in our brokenness and offered life. As you consider the message this week, pay attention to the people around you who may need this hope.
PRAYER
Thank God for sending Jesus to rescue us. Pray for softened hearts to receive the gift of salvation. Ask God to use this group to share hope with others during the Christmas season.
