February 21 & 22, 2026
Small Group Discussion Guide
**SMALL GROUP LEADERS**
Marriage can be a difficult topic for the single, divorced, and widowed people in your group. With as much tact and sensitivity as possible, gently encourage these individuals to engage in this discussion from the perspectives of how they hope it will be in their future, or how they will encourage other married people who seek their counsel.

INTRODUCTION
Tonight we are looking at how God uses marriage to change generations. Scripture presents marriage not as a contract, but as a covenant that shapes legacy, identity, and spiritual direction.
UNDERSTANDING
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ GENESIS 2:24.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ EPHESIANS 5:31–32.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ 2 CORINTHIANS 6:14-15.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ JAMES 5:16.
Healthy marriages do not happen accidentally. They are built where God is working, prayer is active, and both people are willing to grow. Christian marriage is a covenant before God, and when rooted in Christ, it becomes a generational blessing rather than a generational burden.
APPLICATION
PRAYER
Pray for marriages in your church and community to be rooted in Christ. Ask God to strengthen commitment, deepen love, and restore what feels broken. Pray for future generations to inherit healthy, Christ-centered marriages.
