INTRODUCTION
The things we focus on shape the direction of our lives. Jesus challenges us to shift our focus away from ourselves and toward a life that loves God, serves others, and stores up treasure that lasts forever.

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ MATTHEW 6:1–4.

Jesus teaches that following Him changes not only what we do, but why we do it. As we grow closer to God, our focus shifts from ourselves and temporary things to loving people, serving faithfully, and living for eternal purposes.
APPLICATION
PRAYER
Thank God for loving us even when we were selfish and focused on the wrong things. Ask Him to help you grow in love, generosity, prayer, and spiritual discipline with the right motives and a sincere heart.
