INTRODUCTION
The Sermon on the Mount continually challenges us to live differently than the world around us. Jesus teaches that Christians are not supposed to be ruled by fear, anxiety, or panic. Instead, we are called to seek God first and trust Him even in difficult seasons. This week we will look at how worry affects us and how Jesus invites us into peace, trust, and daily dependence on Him.
UNDERSTANDING
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ MATTHEW 6:28–34.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ 2 TIMOTHY 1:7.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ LUKE 10:38–42.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ PROVERBS 3:5–6.
Jesus never promised that life would be easy or free from storms. Instead, He teaches us how to walk through life differently. Worry pulls our focus toward fear and worst-case thinking, while faith redirects our attention toward God’s presence, provision, and guidance. Christians are called to seek God daily, trust Him step by step, and find peace even when circumstances are uncertain.
APPLICATION
PRAYER
Spend time praying for peace over the worries and anxieties represented in the group. Pray that God would help each person focus on today instead of being consumed by fear about tomorrow. Ask God to give wisdom, perseverance, strength, and trust during stressful seasons.
