Nov 21 - 27

Sunday:  Read Luke 18:18-25
Compared to history, we live very comfortable lives. What comforts in your life are keeping you from following Jesus better?
Notice the young man calls Jesus “good” but still cannot follow in the way Jesus asks.

Monday:  Read Malachi 3:6-12
The resources God provides to us are an excellent reminder of his promises. Notice how the people speaking to God are surprised by what he expects of them. Sometimes we need to just ask God to reveal areas in our lives where we haven’t been living up to His standard.

Tuesday:  Read Matthew 25:14-27
Focus on vs 15. The Master did not give the same amount to each servant.
The Things we are given by God are just on loan. We are expected to put our time, money, and “talents” to work for the kingdom.

Wednesday:  Read Luke 6:37-38
Notice how Jesus compares judging others with generosity.
Our actions speak. When we have Jesus’ love in us we should give it to every person we meet. That could be a kind word, deed, or meeting a material need.

Thursday: Read Proverbs 22:1-7
You can't spend what you don’t have. How does vs 7 make you feel?
Look at vs 4, What kind of wealth and honor do you think the writer is referring to?

Friday:  Read John 15:9-17
In this passage Jesus is preparing his disciples for the events to come and offering a glimpse of hope for all his followers. Verses 14-16 show us what it looks like to follow God’s commands because it is just a part of who we are and not something we “have to do”.

Saturday:  Read Philippians 1:3-8
Our greatest treasures are the people God puts in our lives. This week, spend some time Investing in your relationships. Call a distant family member or take someone to lunch. Or try writing an encouraging note or text to someone important to you
