April 24 - 31
Daily Bible Reading // Beginning Sunday, April 24, 2022
Sunday: John 14:16-26; John 16:5-15
These passages teach us many things about the Holy Spirit, who he is and his purpose. See if you can identify at least five.
Monday: Acts1:1-10
This passage describes events after the resurrection and before Jesus was taken up to heaven (ascension). Does it surprise you to see that Jesus showed himself to others for a period of 40 days? Who were the disciples to wait for and why?
Tuesday: 2 Timothy 1:2-12
Is there someone special who helped you become a believer in Christ? How can you fan into flame the gift of God in your life? (hint: it’s listed on the front of the bulletin)
Wednesday: Galatians 5:13-26
The Christian life is about learning to serve others rather than ourselves. Once the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of us, we are to live by the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit should begin to change us. How have you grown in the fruits of the Spirit v22?
Thursday: Philippians 4:4-9
How many action/instructions are laid out in this passage? After you do what Paul asks, what is the result (v7 and 9)? Take time today to rejoice and to present your prayers with thanksgiving.
Friday: Philippians 2:1-11
How closely does your attitude resemble the attitude of Christ laid out in v 6-8? How are doing at looking to the interest of others? Read v 9 -11 and contemplate what victory on the other side of the cross means for Christ and for all his followers. This passage reminds us of who Jesus really is.
Saturday: Psalm 16:11
It is only through the Holy Spirit that we can know true joy. What would “fullness of joy” look like for you right now? How has your definition of “fullness of joy” changed from before you were a follower of Jesus to today?
