May 8-14
Daily Bible Reading // Beginning Sunday, May 8, 2022
Sunday: Luke 2:41-52
How did Mary and Joseph react when they realized Jesus was missing? How did Mary feel in verse 51? Why did Jesus stay behind? Remember there is grace even when you accidentally forget a kid at church, but try to remember them.
Monday: Ephesians 6:1-9
What is the reason Paul tells the children to honor their parents? An employer and employee would be a modern example of the relationships discussed in verses 5-9. What are some ways we can apply the idea of verse 4 to people in our lives other than our children?
Tuesday: Romans 8:1-11
What do you think the writer means by “there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus?” Can you be in “sinful nature” and in the spirit at the same time? How does this passage teach us about grace?
Wednesday: Proverbs 13
What are the wisdom themes for parents/children? What is another theme of wisdom in this chapter? Pick one that stands out to you as something you need to work on and pray for God’s help in that area.
Thursday: Genesis 37
Have you ever accidentally caused conflict in your family? Joseph and Isaac are heroes of the bible but still struggled with serious family junk. Remember that there is grace for all and spend time with the people you love today!
Friday: John 3:1-21
Nicodemus was confused by Jesus talking about being “born again”. What is something you have had to pray about and study to understand better? This passage is summed up in verses 16 and 17, these are awesome verses to practice memorizing scripture with.
Saturday: Galatians 5:16-26
What fruits of the spirit do you see in your life now? Is there anything on the list of sinful acts that you used to do or still do? Pray today and thank God for helping you to grow. Ask Him how you can grow more.
