INTRODUCTION
  • Describe a time you should’ve died but escaped without a scratch.
  • Describe the worst injury you’ve experienced and what the healing process was like.

Everyone gets hurt.  Everyone goes through scary seasons.  Sometimes we make it out unscathed and other times we are left with injuries and scars.  When you add emotional, mental and spiritual injuries into the mix, we are almost always somewhere on the healing spectrum.  This is why one of greatest names for God is the Great Physician!

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ ROMANS 8:31-39
  • What does it mean to you when you hear that God is for you?
  • Share a time when God was with you through a difficult situation.
  • What does it look like in your life to be “more than conquerors” through Jesus?

Now matter what you’re going through, God promises that He will be there with you to walk you through it.  You don’t have to be a victim… quite the opposite!  Because we have Jesus on our side, we can go through anything this life throws at us!

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ GALATIANS 6:1-10
  • How do you know when you are helping a brother/sister in Christ get better versus condemning them for not being good enough?
  • Based on this passage, how are we at times guilty of “mocking” God?
  • What is a time that a brother/sister in Christ helped to “carry your burdens?”

Not only does God say that He will be with us through the thick and thin of life, but He commands others who love Him to come along side us.  That means the same mandate lies on us as well.  We are not to only look at ourselves… we are not to only look to God… but we must look at those hurting around us and carry one another’s burdens as God empowers us to do so.

APPLICATION
  • What are you healing from right now that you need God to remind you that you are "more than a conqueror?"
  • How can you fellow small group members minister to you this week?

PRAYER
Pray that God would determine your identity during difficult times of life and that He would continually put people in your life to walk with you through these times.
