INTRODUCTION
Fear is an interesting thing. People flock to haunted houses by the thousands this time of year to willingly experience fear. But we all have a line… the line between exhilaration and genuine world-shattering fear. When our world seems to be crumbling around us and the stakes are higher than we ever imagined, fear is not funny. Those are the times we often find ourselves having very real and candid conversations with God. Those are the times when faith and fear collide.

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ MARK 5:21-34
Regardless of why these two people came to Jesus for healing, they came to Him and He didn’t turn them away. Not everyone who came to Jesus received what they wanted… but these two did. There is so much we can learn about the personality of God by how tender Jesus is throughout this story.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ MARK 5:35-43
When God says that He is able to do more than we can ask, think or imagine… He means it! Of course, that doesn’t mean that He will ignore what is ultimately best in the big picture because of what we feel we need in the here and now. But it does mean that our loving Father is not limited by our fears or lack of faith. We are called to boldly approach Him with all that life throws at us and invite Him to do more than we can even think to ask for.
APPLICATION
PRAYER
Pray that God would give you opportunities to grow your faith, shrink your fear, and blow your mind with the good things He has in store for you.

- When Jarius’ approaches Jesus, is his motivation faith (in Jesus’ power) or fear (of losing his daughter)? Why?
- Was the motivation of the bleeding woman the same as Jarius or different? Why?
- How do you know your motivation is prayer is pure? Does it matter?
