  • Were there any stories, ideas, or points that stuck out?
  • Was there anything that challenged you?

INTRODUCTION
  • What’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever done?  Don’t be afraid to swing for the fences on this one!
  • As a child, what was your “go to” topic to complain about to anyone who would listen?

In this life, there is sin and there is folly.  In other words, sometimes we (or those around us) are absolutely out of bounds between us and God and other times we’re not morally at fault, but let’s just say that wisdom and us are very much at odds right now.  Regardless of whether sin or folly are currently staring us in the face, we have a choice:  (1) Be better, get better, do better and make positive change in your life and our world, or  (2)  complain about it.

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ PHILIPPIANS 2:12-15
  • How do you “continue to work out your salvation”?
  • What do you grumble or complain about that is wrong with our world?
  • How are you making a positive impact in the areas of our culture you complain about?

Complaining comes so naturally to us!  We don’t need to be told when something is unfair, broken or just plain messed up… we see it… we think about it… and most of the time people around us hear us talk about just how wrong it is.  But Jesus didn’t come to complain about everyone who was lost and broken.  He came to change it and He challenges us to follow in those footsteps.

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ JOSHUA 24:14-15
  • What are some things that our world worships that you have a hard time “throwing away”?
  • Have you ever made up your mind to fully and exclusively serve God?  If so, share your story.
  • What impact could you be making on the world around you, if serving God was ALWAYS your top priority?

Serving God was never meant to be a mild and passive approach to existence.  Serving is an action word and as such requires… ACTION!  God is more aware of how broken, messed up, crooked and fallen our world is.  He doesn’t need passive followers who obsessively complain about our broken world.  He needs world changers.  We are commissioned to GO and MAKE disciples in the world around us.

APPLICATION
  • In what specific way can you make the world around you a little bit more like God wants it to be this week?
  • Is there anything specific that regularly keeps you from positively changing the world around you?

PRAYER
Pray that God would make a world changer out of you.  Wherever you go and whatever you do, may He use you to show people more of what Jesus is like.
