INTRODUCTION
Christmas is a time of celebration. We celebrate and nostalgically reminisce about the past. We gather with loved ones and celebrate our present blessings. And we look to the future year(s) to come with hope and anticipation. All of this celebration hinges one thing… God! As a loving Father, He blesses us with not only salvation from sin, but the power to pursue His better life for us with all the hope for the future that provides.

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ PHILIPPIANS 4:4-9
As so eloquently written by the 19th century poet, Browning, “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.” God shows His love for us in that though we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. But how do we express our love in return? Rejoicing, praising, reflecting and celebrating our God is an absolutely necessary element in our faith walk. We may not have the eloquence of a poet, but we have the same calling to express our love, appreciation and admiration for the lover of our souls.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ PSALM 103:1-13
Separating Christmas from sin, salvation, forgiveness, and other biblical concepts is simply illogical. Christmas is the celebration of our Heavenly Father coming for us at all costs. Christmas carols over the centuries have helped us remember this whether we still acknowledge their lyrics or not…
God rest ye merry gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
For Jesus Christ our Saviour
Was born on Christmas Day
To save us all from Satan's pow'r
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
From God our Heavenly Father
A blessed Angel came;
And unto certain shepherds
Brought tidings of the same,
How that in Bethlehem was born
The Son of God by Name.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
APPLICATION
PRAYER
Rejoice in the Lord always! Out loud, thank God for what He has done in your life.

- God does not treat us as our sins deserve. How would your life look today without God’s blessings/provision/guidance/etc.?
- If God removes our sin as far as the east is from the west, why are there still consequences for sin even after we have repented?
- Why is it so important that God identifies Himself as “Father”?
