  • What was one takeaway from this week's sermon for you?
  • Were there any stories, ideas, or points that stuck out?
  • Was there anything that challenged you?

INTRODUCTION
  • If you could meet anyone in human history (outside of the Bible), who would you most like to meet and why?
  • Share a time when you were left in complete awe by something or someone.

Some of us are not easily impressed, but even the most unimpressed among us have experienced times when our expectations were so far exceeded that “awe” is the only appropriate word to use. Our response to such times/things/people will inevitably vary, but one must admit that praise (and even worship) exist somewhere down the path of awe.

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ  ACTS 16:22-30
  • For someone who would call themselves a follower of Jesus, what is worship?
  • What do you find most difficult and most fulfilling about church worship services (For Example: music volume or style, environment, people around you, etc., etc.)?

Worshiping from a jail cell is probably not a highly relatable experience for most of us… then again, this is Medway  :)  However, coming into the presence of God in the midst of a difficult time of life is something we are all called to as we navigate difficult seasons.  What we commonly fail to realize, however, is that the habit of worship formed during peaceful seasons lays the strong foundation to endure those difficult times.

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ  ISAIAH 6:1-8
  • What is the most memorable or impactful worship time you have ever experienced?
  • When someone experiences the presence of God, does it USUALLY, OCCASIONALLY, or RARELY result in being sent/challenged to act?  Share your own experiences.

One thing is definitely true about coming into the presence of God… it changes you!  It is impossible to experience that perfection/power/love/etc. and walk away unaltered.  God remains the same forever, but when we draw close to Him we are slowly molded into His image and called to His plans and purposes for our lives and the world around us.

APPLICATION
  • What is one practical thing you can do this week to attempt to enter into the presence of God?
  • How do you hope to change for the better this week as you enjoy the presence of God?

PRAYER
Pray that God would create opportunities to worship Him, that He would draw you close and challenge you to more & better things.
