INTRODUCTION
  • Let’s play a round of PEAKS and PITS!  Everyone share ONE thing that is going really well in your life and ONE thing that isn’t going as well as you’d like.

It would, of course, be great if life was lived on those mountain top experiences.  We would all love to stay there.  But life is a dynamic journey with ups and downs including bumps and bruises coupled with victories of varying degrees.  God is there to walk with us in all phases of life - the difficult as well as the celebrations.

STUDY  [tap on scripture to read]
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ  Psalm 142:1-7
  • What has been the lowest point of your life?
  • What were your interactions with God like during that dark season of life?

Jesus came as a light into the darkness!  No matter how dark and dangerous this life gets, God never forsakes his children.  Take your burdens, needs, and hurts to him and he will care for you as a perfect & loving Father to imperfect children.

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ  Psalm 91:9-16
  • What comes to your mind when you hear “he will command his angels concerning you”?
  • How has God shown up in a big way during a dark season of your life?

We serve a big God!  He has a plan to get you through anything life can throw at you.  And he wants to use the trials you come through to encourage and give testimony to those who are still in the thick of it.  Remember, many times what God has saved you from, is what he will call you to as one able to speak wisdom into apparent chaos.

APPLICATION
  • How can God use the tough times you’re going through to help others?
  • Who in your life needs to hear about the goodness of God during tough times?

PRAYER
Pray that God would comfort you when you need comfort, encourage you when you need encouragement, strengthen you when you’re weak, and provide for you in your time of need.
