INTRODUCTION
  • It’s time for another round of “Peaks & Pits”... Everyone BRIEFLY share ONE thing that went poorly this week and ONE thing that went great this week.

We are now fully in the holiday season.  This can be exhilarating and depleting all at the same time.  Taking time to assess where you’re at each day spiritually and emotionally is key.  As Pastor Kevin shared this week, God desires for us to remain in him and draw our strength and direction from that connection to Him.

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ  John 15:1-8
  • What does it look like for a person to “remain in” God?
  • What is the difference between someone who DOESN’T have a relationship with Jesus vs. someone who DOES have a relationship with Jesus but fails to “remain in” him?

It is easy to focus on how badly we can mess up in this life by getting out of touch with God.  However, God’s desire is for us to keep our eyes on the prize and focus on Him and what He is capable of doing in our lives today.  We walk in step with the Holy Spirit because this is truly the only life worth living.  It’s what we were made for.

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ  John 15:9-17
  • “Love your neighbor as yourself” vs. Jesus saying “Love each other as I have loved you”... what’s the difference?
  • What would have to change in your life so that “your joy may be complete”?

God has so much good planned for us!  He knows how to make our joy complete and set us on the path toward His better life.  Our obedience is all that is required.  Obedience that draws into the amazing love of our God is an absolutely beautiful thing!

APPLICATION
  • What is one practical thing you can change/add/drop this week in order to better “remain” in God?
  • Who is someone you need to commit to start loving the way Jesus loves them?

PRAYER
Pray that God would invite you into a greater level of obedience, joy, and relationship with Him this week.
