INTRODUCTION
Do you remember that old Toys-R-Us commercial jingle? “I don’t want to grow up, I’m a Toys-R-Us Kid…” Unfortunately, as time passes, there are only two options - move forward in the aging process… or don’t (death). Something very similar can be observed in our spiritual lives. Either we grow or we decay. Either we go after that which God has called us to, or we experience apathy, frustration, and ineffectiveness. God loves us enough to call us to grow up spiritually!

HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ 2 Peter 1:3-4
Life is not simply a series of random occurrences. We are not meant to be tossed back and forth in this life as if attempting to navigate some stormy ocean. We have been gifted by God the tools necessary to effectively and intentionally pursue the peace, purity, and purpose he desires for us in this life and into eternity.
HAVE A VOLUNTEER READ 2 Peter 1:5-9
Self-analysis can be difficult sometimes. Some of us are overly critical and others are far too eager to excuse shortcomings. But God desires for us to know where we stand and what our next steps are. He is not hiding it from us even though many of us unknowingly (or intentionally) hide these things from ourselves… or maybe more accurately, hide ourselves from them. If we open ourselves up to God’s analysis, correction, and growth; our potential in this life (with His help) is limitless.
APPLICATION
PRAYER
Pray that God would reveal where your next growth steps are and continually challenge you to grow in those areas.
